Cookie Policy
Effective date: 15 September 2026 · Last updated: 14 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how EXPOversal (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at expoversal.com (the “Site”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website operator. Similar technologies — including pixels, local storage, and fingerprinting — are covered by this policy as if they were cookies.
2. Categories of cookies we use
We classify the cookies we use under three categories defined by the European ePrivacy Directive and EDPB guidance:
a) Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, filling in forms, or setting privacy preferences. You can configure your browser to block them, but parts of the Site will not work.
- expoversal_cc — records your cookie choice so the banner is not shown again (180 days).
- wordpress_logged_in_* — keeps you signed in to your member account (session-based, deleted on logout).
- wordpress_sec_* — secures your authenticated session against tampering.
- wordpress_test_cookie — verifies that your browser supports cookies before sign-in.
- wp-settings-* — remembers your admin interface preferences (admin users only).
- PHPSESSID — server session identifier used by the contact form’s security token (deleted when you close the browser).
- expo_ck / expoversal_cc — remembers your cookie-consent choice for up to 180 days.
b) Analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting and reporting information anonymously. We use them to improve the Site’s content and performance. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them via the consent banner.
- _ga, _ga_*, _gid — Google Analytics 4. These cookies record information about your visit such as pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location, with IP anonymisation enabled. Stored for up to 14 months.
Google Analytics is a service provided by Google LLC. Data may be transferred to the United States. See Google’s cookie policy for further information.
c) Third-party service cookies
Some pages embed content or forms served from third parties. Those providers may set their own cookies, which are subject to their own privacy policies:
- hCaptcha — anti-bot protection on the registration form (Intuition Machines, Inc.).
- Gravatar — avatar images for member accounts (Automattic Inc.).
- GoDaddy — our hosting provider loads a site-performance script (img1.wsimg.com) on every page, which may collect technical data such as your IP address and page-load timings (GoDaddy.com, LLC).
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used on this Site are served from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address (Google LLC). No cookies are set.
3. Managing your cookie preferences
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies via the consent banner displayed on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies for expoversal.com and reloading the Site, or by using your browser’s privacy settings to block or delete cookies.
4. Do Not Track
The Site does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, as no consensus standard for their interpretation currently exists. We rely on the consent banner and your browser settings to respect your choices.
5. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. The “Effective date” at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be notified via a banner on the Site.
